Some ghosts know better than to sit at the breakfast table
They’ve got nothing to love, nothing to hold in their arms
Some ghosts sing songs of gold, but we’re not able
To hear a heartbeat’s elegant hum above the alarms
Pain paints everything a deep dark crimson
I can’t remember a world that doesn’t mean me harm
The pain, my son, it has its own opinion
You and I have fallen prey to its charms
Continue to push the button
Again and again and again
Some cowboys think they kill, that’s their delusion
Shoot the bad guys down with fingertips, saying:
“I’ll believe what I want, I don’t need your permission.
The truth is whatever I blow across my lips.”
Continue to push the button
Again and again and again
Why did you do this and what is what you did?
Where will it happen? When and for whom?
Are you sure that you want, the thing that this will do did?
Who are you? What is you? Why do you do what you do?
Who are you? What is you? Why do you do what you do?

Damage Control
04:15

Piranhas in the c-suite and they’re licking their lips
Slurping all the little guppies till their bellies feel sick
Their teeth are so shiny with their beautiful grins
This is what they whisper as they welcome us in:
“The water’s is so warm, it’s got all that you need”
So we sign the dotted line with the greatest of speed
But wait! Oh no! There’s a rumor of late
We heard they’re cooking up dinner and it’s us on the plate
So they call a big meeting, do some damage control
Plug up the leaks and they muddy the shoals
Now piranhas in the c-suite have got nothing to fear
Because there’s nothing to see, and there’s no one to hear
No food in the refrigerator
We need damage control
Every month the rent gets later and later
We need some damage control
There are no buttons on this elevator
We need a little damage control
They want more more more and it’s never enough
No more coverage for the medicator
We need damage control
Ignored by every legislator
We need some damage control
There are no buttons on this elevator
We need a little damage control

Todos me dicen que esta baina se nos va acabar
El planeta calienta, todos nos juimos, empaquen maleta ya
Y ahora si, juntamos ya
No mas guerra, no mas pobresa, no mas odio, no mas politica
Que baina! Que chevere!
La cumbia de los vencidos
Todos me dicen que esta baina se nos va acabar
El planeta calienta, todos nos juimos, empaquen maleta ya
Y ahora si, juntamos ya
No mas hambre, no mas religion, no mas crimen, no mas enfermedad
Que onda guey! Que chevere!
La cumbia de los vencidos
Translation:
Everyone tells me that this “thing” is gonna end (for us)
The planet is heating, we’re all leaving, pack your bags now
And now, yes, we link up now
No more war, no more poverty, no more hate, no more politics
How great!

The Train

The train is on the track
And it’s never coming back
The train is on the track
And it’s never coming back
Get on board, or we’ll roll right over you
The tunnel’s black as night
And there’s no end in sight
The tunnel’s black as night
And there’s no end in sight
We’re gonna roll, gonna roll till we reach the light
Take my hand my friend
Come on board and find your seat
We’re nowhere near the end
And we won’t accept defeat
No matter what comes, we’re gonna fight, fight, fight

Paradise Built In Hell
04:44
|
|

Even the highway’s on fire, you’re town’s burning down
You can’t save it
The sorrow you feel, you’re loved ones can’t be found
You can’t name it
You rage at the ones meant to keep you safe and sound
You can’t contain it
The safety you felt yesterday, it’s all an illusion
Still you crave it
Where do you turn? Who do you turn to?
Where do you go? Who, do you go with?
The sea rises up and crushes your home
It’s hard to believe it
The only streets, the only trees, the only house that you know
Still you leave it
Fear grips every corner of your mind and it shows
You can’t conceal it
The rupture in your life grows and grows
It’s hard to conceive it
Where do you turn? Who do you turn to?
Where do you go? Who do you go with?
We can turn to each other
We can go with one another
All we need is each other
We take care of one another

Until You Heal
02:51
|
|

Everybody breaks a bone or two
Sometimes
Everybody takes a fall
But your family can take care of you until you heal
You and your mind are not the best of friends
Somedays
It gets so hard
But your family can take care of you until you heal
Keep moving forward
Do your best to become
Full of strength and vigor
Someone else’s turn will come
Your heart is broken and your dreams are too
Oh boy
You need time time time
So your family will take care of you until you heal

Farfiza

In a little country town
In the mountains way up high
Lived Farfiza Soluçao
A trouble-making girl, aged nine
At the center of the town
Was a big and deep dark hole
Where they threw their garbage down
Where it went, they did not know
A fearsome creature lurked in lore
No one believed that anymore
One day the earth it started really shaking
Even the mayor did not know what to do
All the buildings were collapsed and breaking
The people turned and said it’s up to you
She didn’t want to be some kind of hero
She just wanted to play hide and go seek
Words of wisdom? No, they offered zero
She was the only person brave enough to speak
So, on a rope they lowered her down, down, down into the big and deep dark hole. The smell was horrible. And peering out from under a mountain of garbage were two giant, sad eyes.
“Are you the fearsome creature of lore?,” she asked.
“Yes, but I mean no harm. I love the town,” the creature replied. “It’s just that, that… It’s just that… AAACHOOOO!”
The creature’s sneeze rumbled and shook everything around.
“... I don’t feel very well these days.”
Farfiza knew what must be done. Back on the surface she told the whole town what she had seen and what they must do. So, little by little they cleaned all of the garbage from the hole. Lo and behold, the earthquakes stopped. Now, instead of garbage once a day they send down a bouquet of lilacs - the creature’s favorite flower.
And now Farfiza has become a hero
That’s a really big responsibility
Didn’t want to be some kind of hero
She was the only person brave enough to speak

She spins sweet supernovas out of honey and clay
She’s got a plan for the future, don’t you get in her way
She’s got command of techtonics at her fingertips
She radiates perfection from her perfect lips
Her name is
Gabrielle, Ga-a-a-brielle
Gabrielle, Ga-a-a-brielle
Her hair’s a magnetic halo that will brighten your soul
There’s one word she can’t resist, and that word is “go”
Cashmere caresses, opalescent heart
Her smell is aphrodisiastic and she glows in the dark
Her name is
Gabrielle, Ga-a-a-brielle
Gabrielle, Ga-a-a-brielle

Living On The Edge
04:09
|
|
||
We’re living on the edge
And I can’t stop to think about tomorrow
We’re living on the edge
And I can’t stop to think about tomorrow now
The temperature’s rising
The lights are dim
The music erases sentimental whispers on the wind
They say that it’s coming
An end to the fun
Such empty threats for refugees who dance on the run
CHORUS
There’s no time for discussion
There’s no time for good-bye
Any words that are not sung tonight are probably lies
There’s nothing behind us
There’s nothing ahead
The planet is our dance floor and we’ll dance till we’re dead
